Do I need an International Driver’s License to drive in Chile?

It is not necessary to have an International Driver’s License to drive in Chile. You can use your license from your home country.

Can I travel to Argentina in a rental vehicle?
Yes, it is possible to travel to Argentina in a United rental car. However, it is necessary to get a special permit and additional insurance, which we process at an additional charge. You must book this service at least five working days in advance. Click here for details and cost.

Can I travel to Peru or Bolivia in a rental vehicle?
Unfortunately, Chilean insurance does not have coverage in Peru or Bolivia, so it is not possible to travel to those countries in a rental car.

Can I return the car in Argentina?
No, the vehicle must be picked up and dropped off in Chile.

Can I pick up the car and return it in different cities?
Yes. You may pick up and return the vehicle in different places. However, there is a charge according to the distance between cities. Click here for details.

How old must I be to rent a car?
All renters must be at least 23 years old.

What are daily and weekly rates?
Daily rate: 24 hours from the pickup time. Weekly rate: applied to rentals of 7 or more days.

What do I need to rent a vehicle?
All renters must show a valid driver’s license and passport. You must also have a credit card with USD 600 available for guarantee purposes (this amount is not charged but must be authorized).

What kind of coverage is included in the standard insurance?
Our standard insurance (included in all our rates) covers collision damage, theft and 3rd party liability within Chile. A deductible equivalent to aproximately USD 600 shall be applicable in case of damage or theft of the rental vehicle. The insurance also includes 24 hour road assistance anywhere in Chile. My credit card covers CDW. Can I decline your insurance?

Our insurance is mandatory, therefore, it cannot be refused nor discounted.

How do I cancel a reservation?
You must notify us at least 72 hours prior to the beginning of your reservation to avoid no-show charges. Click here for further details.

I am a foreigner, do I have to pay sales tax (IVA)?
Sales tax exemption for tourists is only applicable to hotel (lodging) expenses. Therefore, the sales tax on car rentals (19%) cannot be discounted.

Is there a limit or charge for mileage?
All our rates include unlimited free mileage.

Is there an extra charge for additional drivers?
You may have two additional drivers at no extra charge. Additional drivers must meet our minimum age requirement and show a valid driver’s license and passport.

Do you deliver cars at the airport or in my hotel?
Yes, we offer pick-up/drop-off at the Santiago Airport (SCL) or any hotel in the city. There is an airport pick-up charge of CLP 2,000 plus 19% sales tax.


What is your pickup and drop-off policy?
Pick-up/drop-off between the hours of 10 pm and 7:59 am any day are subject to an off-hour charge of CLP 21,200. Pick-up/drop-off during off-hours or Saturdays, Sundays or holidays out of our office, are subject to an off-hour charge of CLP 6,300. There is an airport pick-up fee of CLP 2,000. All charges are subject to 19% sales tax.

What are your office hours?
Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 7 PM and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, pick-up and drop-off are possible at any time, day or night. Off-hour pickups/drop-offs, or pickups/drop-offs out of our office, have an additional charge (see previous question) and must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance.
